Facilitation

Who Benefits?

Facilitation

What is a Facilitated Meeting?

A facilitator leads meetings by preparing a mutually agreed upon agenda, keeps the focus on the issues, provides a thorough discussion and helps the participants work collaboratively toward a mutually agreed on action plan that assures implementation of the groups’ initiatives.

Who benefits from having an unbiased facilitator?

Everybody!  From the manager who can concentrate on work rather than preparation for leading the meeting to all participants who will feel freer to contribute to the group experience.  The climate of the meeting is more open and accepting when an unbiased facilitator gathers the information to set the agenda; encourages collaboration from all before and during the meeting; has no preconceived ideas of the participants' interactions; and will not be in the chain of command for ongoing
suggestions, criticisms and recriminations before, during and after the process.
